Buwakarta Dozens of residents have been scammed by the Employment Distribution Services Group in Purwakarta Regency, West Java. The victims were asked to pay 10 million rupees each after they promised to work as employees in a factory in the Purwakarta industrial district.

This case was revealed from a report of two victims to the police. They only realized that they were victims of fraud long after there was no call from the company that the labor suppliers had promised. To the end, the police conducted an investigation and succeeded in arresting two perpetrators, each with the initials TS and SH. Both were arrested at two different locations in Purwakarta.

“The way is that the perpetrators provide information about the existence of vacancies in a company and then offer to help in entering the business, but first the money must be provided as service fee of 10 million rupees per person,” Purwakarta Police Chief Purwakarta said. Edward Dhul-Qarnayn, Friday (26/8/2022).

The results of the investigation with the perpetrators showed that 40 people became victims of fraud, including those who handed over money. Thus, the realized profit is estimated at 400 million rupees.

“This case is still under development,” said Edwar. “Anyone who feels they are being defrauded by this group of labor distribution services are urged to come to Purwakarta Police Headquarters.”

In this case, the police confiscated a number of evidence, including a letter of agreement in the name of the company and a number of payment receipts. Meanwhile, to clarify their actions, the perpetrators were threatened under Article 378 and or 372 of the Criminal Code with the threat of 4 years imprisonment.
