News, TUNISIA – The Indonesian Ambassador to Tunisia, Zuhairi Masrawy, gave a public lecture on Nahdlatul Ulama’s vision of civilization in front of the cadres and administrators of the Special Branch of Nahdlatul Ulama Tunisian, Thursday (25/8/2022), local time.
Ambassador Zuhairi Masrawy said that the existence of NU historically wanted mainly to respond to the acute problems of civilization in the Islamic world, especially after the fall of the Ottoman dynasty in 1924 in Turkey.
“If we look at the historical dimension, we can see that the birth of NU wanted primarily to provide answers to the acute problems faced by the Islamic world in the context of civilization.”
“NU Kiais wants the Islamic world to build a vision of civilization that goes beyond just building empire and power. Therefore, the main idea of NU is brotherhood and unity in order to build human civilization. In the context of the importance of building brotherhood and brotherhood .. friendship,” said the Indonesian ambassador also known as Rahith Nahdlatul Ulama in a statement to Tribunnews.com, Friday (26/8/2022), Indonesia time.

Ambassador Zuhairi Masrawy added that Nile University’s stability in building civilization so far is due to the fact that Muslims focus on building noble morals and values, and not falling into conflicts and power struggles.
“At the 1984 NU Conference in Situbondo, the vision of NU civilization was reaffirmed by elevating the trilogy of brotherhood: Islamic brotherhood (Islamic brotherhood), national brotherhood (brotherhood and compassion), and human brotherhood (human brotherhood). In the Indonesian context, but also In the global context,” the Sumenep-Madura-born Indonesian ambassador said.
Ambassador Zuhairi Masrawy also expressed his appreciation for the steps taken by the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Council, which raised the issue of the great jurisprudence of civilization in the context of welcoming the second century of Nile University.
“I really appreciate the steps of Gus Yahya, who wants to revive the vision of NU civilization. I also ask NU cadres, especially in Tunisia, to formulate and provide input on the vision of NU civilization from the Perabadan idea that also flourishes in Tunisia echoed by Ibn Khaldun and increased its scientific activities in order to play role in the second century AD.
