News, JAYAPURA – The Vice-President’s Secretariat Arranges (Setwapres) has held a coordination meeting (Rakor) to accelerate welfare development in the Papua territories through a partnership with PGGP for the provinces of Papua and West Papua.

This coordination meeting shared the ministries/agencies (K/L) implementing the program with church institutions in Tanah Papua, members of the PGGP (Papuan Church Company) Papua and West Papua Provinces at State Finance Hall Building, Jayapura City, Wednesday (24/24 ). / 8/2022).

This coordination meeting was held to follow up on Vice President Maarouf Amin’s directive to engage the Papuan churches in an effort to accelerate development in Papua and West Papua, which the Vice President conveyed directly upon receiving him. An audience of PGGP/PB on April 20, 2022 in Jakarta.

At that time, the PGGP/PB made recommendations containing input points from Papua Church leaders as material for consideration by the Vice President in the development of Papua land.

Now, the Vice-President’s Secretariat and Technical Ministries are visiting Papua to discuss the technical realization of the partnership program, as well as to demonstrate the seriousness of the central government to synchronize the programs that have been run with the aspirations of the churches in Papua.

The coordination meeting was opened by Suprayuga Hadi, Vice President for Human Development Policies Support and Equality in Development, and was directly led by the Vice President’s staff, Professor Masikuri Abdullah.

This coordination meeting was also invited by Reverend Hescia Rollo who is also the Chief Provincial General of Papua New Guinea along with the ranks of the PGGP in Papua and West Papua, the heads of the Arras Church Institute, and the President of the Republic of Papua New Guinea, Johnny Panwa Rho. who was also appointed by the PGGP to be the general chairperson of the PCC.

According to Deputy Policy Support for Human Development and Equality in Development Suprayoga Hadi, organizing the coordination meeting in Papua is part of the central government’s steps to promote a cultural, religious and humanistic approach in dealing with Papuan issues, especially with church figures as one of the key stakeholders in the history of Papua’s development.

“This coordination meeting aims to synchronize the aspirations of the PGGP/PB with the Presidential Instruction Plan 9/2022 on the Papua Welfare Development Accelerator Program 2021-2022 FY2022 and to accommodate the aspirations of the PGGP/PB as preparation materials. From RKP TA 2023, RKPD 2023 and RAPPP 2023- 2024 and RIPPP 2021-2041,” Hadi said.

Meanwhile, the Vice President’s Special Staff, Professor Masikuri Abdullahi, said the aspirations conveyed by PGGP/PB are generally in line with the Vice President’s accelerated development trend.
