Ankara – Singer turkey Goulsen, he has to deal with the state police. Turkish singer Madonna was arrested on charges of inciting hatred for her jokes about a religious school.

And in April, the singer joked that one of his band’s “perverts” was due to attend a religious school.

Although this statement is old, recently the talk has spread widely and has drawn criticism from conservative circles.

But critics say the arrests are an attempt by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to boost support ahead of next year’s elections.

It should be noted that President Erdogan, whose Justice and Development Party (AKP) party first came to power about 20 years ago, studied in one of the country’s first Imam Hatip religious schools set up by the state to educate young people to become imams and preachers.

In addition, many people in the Turkish government also come from these institutions.

Before his arrest, Goulsen apologized on social media and noted that his words were interpreted differently by those aiming to polarize society.
