“Of course the person concerned (Verde Sambo, editor) has the right to appeal and it’s all part of the process and then there will be another decision on the application in question,” National Police Chief Listio Seget Prabowo said after the decision. Previously, the National Police Code of Professional Ethics Committee (KKEP) had imposed a penalty in the form of disrespectful dismissal (PTDH) against Inspector General Freddy Sambo in connection with the premeditated murder case of Brigadier J O Novriansyah Yoshua Hotabarat. In this regard, Verde Sambo also filed an appeal against the decision.
The Head of the Public Relations Department of the National Police, Inspector General Didi Prasetyo, explained the stages or processes related to the appeal made by Verdi Sambo. Didi clarified in Perpol Number 7 for 2022, that an appeal applicant should not submit an appeal statement in written form to the KKEP Secretariat no later than three business days after the decision has been read.
