West Sumatra – The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported an earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale that shook the Mentawai region, West Sumatra on Monday (29/8/2022) at 00:04 WIB.

The results of the BMKG analysis show that this earthquake has an updated parameter of magnitude M5.2. The epicenter is located at coordinates 1.00 degrees south latitude (LS); 97.58 degrees east longitude (BT) or is located exactly in the sea at a distance of 156 km to the northwest, at a depth of 14 km.

So far, there have been no reports of damages caused by the quake. The results of BMKG monitoring showed no dependent activity.
